An improved opposition-based Crow Search Algorithm for Data Clustering
Authors
Abstract:
Data clustering is an ideal way of working with a huge amount of data and looking for a structure in the dataset. In other words, clustering is the classification of the same data; the similarity among the data in a cluster is maximum and the similarity among the data in the different clusters is minimal. The innovation of this paper is a clustering method based on the Crow Search Algorithm (CSA) and Opposition-based Learning (OBL). The CSA is one of the meat-heuristic algorithms that is difficult at the exploration and exploitation stage, and thus, the clustering problem is susceptible to initialization for centrality of the clusters. In the proposed model, the crows change their position based on the OBL method. The position of the crows is updated using OBL to find the best position for the cluster. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, the experiments were performed on 8 datasets from the UCI repository and compared with seven different clustering algorithms. The results show that the proposed model is more accurate, more efficient, and more robust than other clustering algorithms. Also, the convergence of the proposed model is better than other algorithms.

An Improved K-Nearest Neighbor with Crow Search Algorithm for Feature Selection in Text Documents Classification
The Internet provides easy access to a kind of library resources. However, classification of documents from a large amount of data is still an issue and demands time and energy to find certain documents. Classification of similar documents in specific classes of data can reduce the time for searching the required data, particularly text documents. This is further facilitated by using Artificial...

full textAn Improved Cuckoo Search Based Robust Ensemble Co-clustering Algorithm (ics - Recca) for Gene Data Clustering
This research work intends to propose a system with improved cuckoo searchbased robust ensemble co-clustering algorithm (ICS RECCA) for enzyme clustering. The cuckoo search algorithm has been inspired by the obligate brood parasitism of some cuckoo species by laying their eggs in the nests of other host birds (of other species). Some host birds can engage direct conflict with the intruding cuck...
full textAn Improved Cat Swarm Optimization Algorithm Based on Opposition-Based Learning and Cauchy Operator for Clustering
Clustering is a NP-hard problem that is used to find the relationship between patterns in a given set of patterns. It is an unsupervised technique that is applied to obtain the optimal cluster centers, especially in partitioned based clustering algorithms. On the other hand, cat swarm optimization (CSO) is a new metaheuristic algorithm that has been applied to solve various optimization problem...
full textAN IMPROVED INTELLIGENT ALGORITHM BASED ON THE GROUP SEARCH ALGORITHM AND THE ARTIFICIAL FISH SWARM ALGORITHM
This article introduces two swarm intelligent algorithms, a group search optimizer (GSO) and an artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA). A single intelligent algorithm always has both merits in its specific formulation and deficiencies due to its inherent limitations. Therefore, we propose a mixture of these algorithms to create a new hybrid optimization algorithm known as the group search-artif...
full textImproved Cuckoo Search Algorithm for Global Optimization
The cuckoo search algorithm is a recently developedmeta-heuristic optimization algorithm, which is suitable forsolving optimization problems. To enhance the accuracy andconvergence rate of this algorithm, an improved cuckoo searchalgorithm is proposed in this paper. Normally, the parametersof the cuckoo search are kept constant. This may lead todecreasing the efficiency of the algorithm. To cop...
